ABOUT PROJECT WEE CARE

Picture
The Project Wee Care program developed as a link between the San Mateo-Foster City School District and Samaritan House, a non-profit agency providing services to residents of San Mateo County such as food, shelter, clothing, education and medical.  Through this program, teachers, parents, and students join forces to help low-income families through donations of food, clothing, linens, holiday toys and other items. By participating in gathering donations, children gain an understanding that there are people in need within our community, they learn how to help these people in need, and learn that volunteering can make a difference in the lives of others. All SMFCSD schools participate in the Wee Care Program.

Summer is over, the weather is getting colder, and the afternoon winds of San Mateo are picking up!

When you pull out your winter gear, please save your items that you will no longer wear, and donate to
One Warm Coat

We will have a One Warm Coat collection at Laurel from 10/1 through 10/4
Please bring gently used coats, jackets, and sweaters only, please!

More recycling efforts by the Green Team, LEAF!

Picture
In addition to our very successful recess composting program, LEAF is continuing our ink and toner cartridge recycling.  And we are excited to be adding the following items for recycling:  crayons, markers, highlighters, dry erase markers and household batteries.

Feel free to spread the word!

The collection spot is conveniently located just inside the door to the school office.

Please also visit the Laurel School website and the SMFC School district website.
