Good morning, Laurel Eagles!
Highlights in this edition of The Monday Message are:
PROJECT WEE CARE TOY COLLECTION for San Mateo Families, 11/25-12/4
Project Wee Care is a non-profit program of Samaritan House that joins students, teachers, and parents together in helping San Mateo families. All SMFCSD participate to help those that are less fortunate in our city.
For our first Laurel Elementary Wee Care Collection of the 2019-2020 school year, we are collecting New Toys for the holidays. Additionally, we will have an extra bin in the MPR for children’s new or gently used clothing (infant through teen). Please consider purchasing a toy during your holiday shopping!
Please drop off your donations from November 24th through December 4th in the bins located at the office, the drive-through, and the MPR. Thank you very much for your consideration and donations!
5th GRADE SEE'S CANDIES FUNDRAISER, orders DUE TOMORROW, 11/26
Tomorrow, Tuesday, November 26th is the last day to turn in your See’s Candies orders. Order forms were sent home in early November, and there is a link to a printable order form on the Laurel PTA website (and extra forms are in the office). This fundraiser raises money for Laurel's 5th grade promotion events. Thank you from the 5th Grade Committee!
THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY BREAK, 11/27-29
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Enjoy your break, and we'll see you back on Monday, 12/1.
TALBOT'S HOLIDAY SHOPPING NIGHT, 12/4, 7-9pm
Join us for our Holiday Shopping Night at Talbot's Toyland in downtown San Mateo on Wednesday evening, December 4, 7-9pm. 10% of all purchases are returned to our school as a donation. This is an adult only event. Your courteousness in arranging for child care will be much appreciated by your fellow shoppers. Refreshments will be served. Talbot's offers free gift wrap and can hold/hide your purchases for pickup at a later date. This event is really fun! See flyer.
IT TAKES A VILLAGE...JOIN US!
Have you joined the Laurel PTA membership yet this year? Belonging to the Laurel PTA creates the village that we need to impact our kids and strengthen our Laurel community. Putting in your $10 annual membership fee tells our students that you are investing in them. If everyone invests in our students, they will see that we are ALL invested in helping them achieve more. The Laurel PTA strives to support the specific needs of the Laurel community, and your membership helps us get there. And really, the absolute best part of Laurel PTA membership is making a difference in our children's lives. Together Everyone Achieves More! TEAM!
In case you're wondering where PTA-raised money goes, check out this list:
Reminder: Your PTA membership must be renewed each year to remain active. If you have not purchased your 2019-20 Laurel PTA membership yet, please do so today! Have the power to vote on PTA issues and spending decisions by becoming a member. Join or renew today!
