What is the Laurel PTA and what does it do for Laurel Elementary School?
The Laurel PTA (Parent Teacher Association) is a group of parents, teachers and staff working together to make our children's education the best it can be.
At Laurel, the PTA enhances our children's learning experience by exposing them to activities, assemblies and tools that are not funded by the State or our School District. In order to provide additional programs for Laurel's students, fundraising is required, and your participation is crucial.
The Laurel PTA provides over $100,000 in programs, enrichment materials, and activities for Laurel's students!
What does the PTA provide?
The PTA funds these programs through fundraising.
We look to Laurel parents and our community to help us raise the funds, historically through 2 major fundraisers:

- Student Programs and assemblies
- Classroom and enrichment materials
- Computer equipment, maintenance and other educational equipment
- Art in Action art program
- Books for the school library
- Community Events (ex: Monster Mash)
- PTA Website
- Campus Beautification

We look to Laurel parents and our community to help us raise the funds, historically through 2 major fundraisers:
- Invest in the Nest!
- Spring Auction
- Book Fair
- Passive fundraisers including: eScrip, BoxTops, AmazonSmile, & OhmConnect
- Restaurant Nights
When does the PTA Membership meet?
General Meetings are typically held on the 4th Monday in August, November, January, March and May unless there are scheduling conflicts with the school calendar. Changes in this schedule will be posted as soon as a conflict is determined, but least 10 days prior to the new date. Please join us! Everyone is welcome to attend, but only PTA members are allowed to vote.
Each meeting agenda will be posted online one week prior to the General Meeting date. If you have any questions or would like to add an item to the Agenda, please contact [email protected] at least 10 days prior to the scheduled meeting date.
